Shops, malls are set to open from April 25 onwards
Traders and shoppers will both need movement passes to commute to and from shops and malls during the Covid-19 lockdown, according to police sources.
A reliable source at the police headquarters told Bangla Tribune that everyone who intends to leave their home during the lockdown will need a movement pass, with the exception of some requirements. They added that the same rules apply in the current conditions of the lockdown as well.
“We will monitor the movement of buyers and sellers,” the source said.
If there is any more information in this regard, the media will be informed later, they added.
Earlier on Friday, the Cabinet Division issued an official notice regarding the opening of shops and malls.
The notice stated that shops and shopping malls will remain open from 10am to 5pm.
However, the notice does not include any directives related to movement passes.
The notice discourages people from visiting malls unless absolutely necessary to avoid Covid-19 infection.
The lockdown, enforced to curb the surge of Covid-19 infection in the country as it is hit by the second wave of the pandemic, came into effect on April 14 for a week. It was later extended for another week, and is scheduled to end on April 28
