The test positivity rate stood at 29.3%
Bangladesh has recorded its highest daily coronavirus death toll as well as highest number of single-day cases since the pandemic began.
On Monday, the health authorities reported 164 deaths, taking the total death toll from the disease to 15,229.
The new record surpassed the previous high of 153 on Sunday.
Meanwhile, another 9,964 people tested positive in the 24 hours to Monday morning, taking the tally to 954,881.
The daily test positivity rate stood at 29.3%, according to the latest figures by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
