A total of 199 fatalities reported in 24 hours to Thursday morning with daily test positivity rate standing at 31.62%
With 11,651 new Covid-19 cases detected in the 24 hours to Thursday morning, Bangladesh yet again reported its highest single-day caseload, only two days after logging the highest number of infections.
The new record surpassed the previous high of 11,525 on Tuesday.
As many as 36,850 samples were tested across the country, for a positivity rate of 31.62%.
Meanwhile, as many as 199 more people died from Covid-19 in the 24-hour period.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) revealed the latest figures on Covid-19 in the country with a press release on Thursday afternoon.
The total number of deaths reached 15,792 while the number of total infections rose to 989,219 in the country.
On the other hand, another 5,844 patients recovered from the infectious disease across the country, taking the total number of recovery to 856,346.
Dhaka logged the highest number of cases in the 24 hours to 8 am on Thursday among the eight divisions with 4,949. Khulna saw 1,732, Chattogram 1,936 and Rajshahi 1,048, while Rangpur saw 744.
