No arrests made over the gold bars found in the flight from Dubai
Customs authorities at the Chittagong airport seized 86 gold bars weighing nearly 10kg from a Biman Bangladesh aircraft on Saturday.
The estimated market value of the gold bars, found under a seat of the plane that came from Dubai, is around Tk7 crore, according to officials.
No arrests have been made over the haul, they said.
The confiscated gold will be deposited in the customs warehouse and the authorities will take legal action in this connection.
The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate has so far seized around 111.5kg of gold – valued at about Tk78 crore – in the 2021-2022 fiscal year, according to officials.
