U-19 WC defending champions Bangladesh following the Asia Cup will travel to the WI for the U-19 WC 2022
Bangladesh U-19 cricket team will begin their Asia Cup campaign taking on Nepal in Group B at Sharjah Friday.
The 17-member Bangladesh squad travelled to the United Arab Emirates for the eight-team tournament last Tuesday.
Bangladesh U-19 team had to undergo a day-long quarantine upon reaching the UAE.
Bangladesh U-19 captain Rakibul Hasan in a message to the media following their first practice session on UAE soil Thursday emphasized on the importance of a good start in the competition.
“[Friday] is our first game of the Asia Cup. It is important for us to get a winning start. We want to play good cricket. The team are in a good mindset at the moment and everyone is fit. We had our first practice session [Thursday]. We will try to give ourbest in the game [against Nepal] and ensure that we execute the plans,” said left-arm spinner Rakibul.
We were in a day-long quarantine and now we had a good practice session. We are ready going into the tournament,” he added.
Bangladesh U-19 team in their second group game of the tournament will face Kuwait Saturday and Sri Lanka in the third Tuesday.
Bangladesh will play all the matches at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
