Demonstrations rock campus, a day after authorities shut university and order students to vacate dormitories
The Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sust) campus is rife with protest demanding the resignation of Vice Chancellor Farid Uddin Ahmed after police attacked students on campus.
Students gathered and started demonstrating at the university premises on Sunday around 8am.
Protesters alleged that police baton charged the students at VC Farid’s direction.
In addition to the vice chancellor’s resignation, they demanded the stepping down of the proctorial body and the students advisory director.
The university authorities formed an eight-member probe committee over the ongoing agitation on campus.
