Five BNP leaders including Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir have appeared in court in two cases of vandalism at Shahbag police station in the capital on Thursday.
They appeared in the court of Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Asaduzzaman Noor, confirmed court sources.
Other accused leaders in the case are Standing Committee members Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Vice Chairman Abdullah Al Noman and Joint Secretary General Moazzem Hossain Alal.
The two cases were filed on the charge of sabotage in Shahbagh police station area in December 2019. Two cases are currently under investigation.
