Court granted bail to actress Mahia Mahi in Digital Security Act case considering pregnancy and celebrity
Actress Mahiya Mahi was released from Gazipur district jail on Saturday (March 18, 2023) evening on bail after various dramas throughout the day.
Mahi walked out from jail around 7:30pm after she got bail in both of the cases filed against her, her lawyer Advocate Kamrul Hasan said.
Mahi’s lawyer said the court granted bail to his client taking her pregnancy inti account and considering her status of celebraty.
He said despite a case was filed against his client, she came back to Bangladesh as she is respectful to law.
After her release around 7:50 pm, she reached the main gate of the jail where her fans and well-wishers welcomed her with flowers, said Mahyia Mahi’s lawyer Kamrul Hasan.
Earlier in the day, actress Mahi was granted bail in two cases– filed one under the Digital Security Act and another for alleged extortion and assault of a businessman after she was sent to jail by a court.
Before that, she was arrested from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport
